| « Some House Rules Issues, Pt 1 | A quick update because its been a couple of weeks! » |
Spiders, big ones and little ones, even gargantuan ones, have been the order of the day the last couple of game sessions.
The party made it around Low Isle to the river that leads to the Temple of Sorrow. Due to a mix up in information, this proved to be a lot easier than it was supposed to be! Still, the journey was made and Orcus presumably still thinks they are trevelling overland. So, while Orcus is slowly amassing an army to squish these emminently squishable flesh-bound types from the other side of a portal to the Abyss, the party is slowly inching its way closer to that portal.
The problem, at the moment, is that the old track from the river to the temple is a mass of spiders, or, perhaps, a mess of spiders. Some of them quite large, and they seem to all have glowing red eyes and damage reduction… mwaaaaahaaaahaaaaah.
Going off the track lands you in a swamp with travel slowed for most of the party. Staying on the track involves countless encounters with countless spiders. So, by the end of the last session, half the party was in the air! This includes Nailo—flying a summoned giant eagle which is carrying in its talons a large, zombie spider which Nailo raised to undeath… Hmmmm.
The newest party member, the pegasus flying Faust, had a strange encounter with a/some lizardfolk in a ‘deserted’ village, probably not far from the temple. Its not clear, yet, what the consequences of that encounter might be. And then there will be the temple itself.
And all of that before reaching the Abyss. The party is in for quite a ride!
